On February 1, 1914, the Bamberg location of the SteelCo.Tech group of companies was founded as "Neue Metallwarenfabrik Bamberg, Oehlhorn & Kahn offene Handelsgesellschaft".
The two founding fathers, the tool master and operations manager Georg Oehlhorn and the businessman Sally Kahn, decided to establish a metal goods factory in Bamberg in October 1913. In doing so, they were certainly in line with the trend of the time. The city experienced an economic boom at the turn of the 20th century, which also led to the establishment of modern companies in the then growth sector of electrical engineering.
A former carpentry shop on Hallstadter Strasse served as the company premises. Initially, stamped, bent and deep drawn parts were manufactured, which were used as preliminary products for the downstream industries of electrical engineering and electrical installation. The manufacturing technologies of non-cutting metal forming formed the basis for these products. At the beginning, work was carried out with individual presses and finally with progressive composite tools. The materials used were mainly brass and copper alloys.
Today, the Bamberg site is once again following this tradition and has specialized in deep-drawn parts made of stainless steel, steel and aluminum for many decades. However, non-ferrous metals are still processed here. More about the company / location on the website: OEKA TECH Automotive GmbH | Metall in seiner präzisesten Form. (currently only in Geman)
